Searching for Pride ... Chapter One {A Polyvore Novel}

Yes, I'm writing a new novel! I may not continue on Broken Keys for a little while, or even bother finishing it, as I want to work more on this one, instead!

I rolled out of bed and hit the 'Snooze' button on my alarm clock.
'ROSE-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Are you up???' My Mother called up the stairs.
'Yes, Mum.' I mumbled loudly.
'School is starting soon, so get dressed quick and I'll get some cereal out for you!'
'Okaaaaaay.' I rolled my eyes and shuffled over to my bureau. I hate mornings, I thought to myself. I opened the top drawer and picked out a pair of faded and ripped capris, and a Toronto Blue Jays tee. I knotted my long, chocolate brown hair into a messy ponytail, and stuffed my favourite worn out baseball cap overtop. I threw on my old Converses, and raced down the stairs.
'Morning, Mum!' I kissed my Mum on the cheek and plopped down on the bar stoll seat next to the island. A mug of tea and a bowl of Cheerios awaited me.'
So how did you sleep, hun?'
'Fine.' I replied threw a mouthful of Cheerios.
'Good, good.' Mum smiled and nodded.
I grinned back and glanced at the clock.
'Crap, I gotta go,' I shrieked. 'Byee, Mum!'
'Bye, sweetie!'I grabbed my book bag, tossed it over one shoulder, and ran out the door.

I arrived at school 10 minutes later. I sighed, feeling relieved. 10 minutes 'till first period ... Gooooood, I thought.'
Rosie! Hey!' I whipped around to see my best friend in the world, Mitchel.
'Mitchel! Hey!' I mimicked his excited tone and playfully slapped his arm. 'Didja get your algebra homework done?'
'Yea, but I stayed up 'till midnight working on it!' Mitchel grimiced.
'Oh, well.' I giggled.
'ROSIEEEE! MITCHELLLLLLLL!'
I, one again, whipped my head around.
My other best friend ever, Elle, was sprinted towards us, her book bag bouncing off her right leg with every step she took.
'Hey, Elle!' Mitchell high fived her.
'Hey guys, whassup?' Elle panted.
'Nothin' much' I replied for both myself, and Mitchel.
'Cool beans. Hey Mitchel, did ya get your algebra doneee?' Elle turned to Mitchel and gave him a disapproving look ... Algebra wasn't Maitchel's best subject.
'Yeeee-es, I got it done, Elli.' Mitchel laughed, then gave Elle a noogie. I stood there, laughing so hard a single tear trickled down my cheek.
'Let's get to class now, guys.' I said. I giggled and dragged them off to first period.
